Omologato produce !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , working with either the brand or a race track to produce hand assembled timepieces.
What really struck me about the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! was the 45 degree watch face. That’s because the only other watch that has a quarter turned face – that I am aware of – is the Vacheron Constantine 1921, at a rather cool £28,850.
The detailing is superb. Crisp white numbers and minute markers sit on a jet black face. The number 12 is in Laguna Seca blue, with the track logo sitting in the lower half of the face next to the date.
Overall I love the watch. It’s so different that it literally has no competition in this price range.
The price is something that nags at me a little though. Don’t get me wrong, the quality of the materials is really second to none, yes an anti-reflective coating on the glass would be nice, and some lume on the dial and hands wouldn’t go a miss…but the main issue for me is that it’s not mechanical.
I’d much prefer to have mechanical innards, even if they are a Chinese version of a Swiss movement.
Mechanical feels so much more alive, more of a machine. You have to wind it to give it life, it just goes with the whole Omologato Motorsport aesthetic.
I know it’s something they are working toward in the future, and I really hope they fully move across to mechanical movements, or offer a more affordable line of Quartz options along with higher end mechanical ones.

I looked through their website and they have really beautiful watches.
But they are a bit too expensive, considering the movement that’s used.
Wish they were at least 25% cheaper...

That’s the only bugbear of ours...but a mechanical version is in the works apparently. Hopefully then the price of the Quartzies will drop.

It’s pretty nice, but I 100% agree on it needing to be mechanical, particularly if it’s motorsport themed. The case shape is really loudly yelling Panarai from across the room. I’m sure some watch people might think it’s a Panarai from a distance, up close it’s going to be a let down when you see the movement of the second hand (I’m talking about watch snobs, screw ‘em). Still neat though, I get the vibe of the numbering and the angle.
A Prometheus Jellyfish with Seiko’s 6R15 hacking mechanical movement and T25 tritium was what I was willing to spend that much on after searching for a long time for a watch in this price range.

I like the new Can-Am, but I like orange things anyway.

$370 for a $5 movement in a cheap stainless case, and they couldn’t spring for a stainless bezel? I would not part with my money for one.

Is the face at least scratch resistant instead of just glass?

No crystal details are given. Probably a hardened mineral surface (same as most other watches like Citizens and Seikos).

Really? That would be amazing! The mechanical movement is very appealing around that price. The quartzes will be even more so at a lower price.
If that happens, count me in as a customer!

Review leaves out some information I’d like to have if I am to spend that much money on a watch... I am left not knowing what kind of a crystal it has (better be sapphire at that price range), not knowing if it has a locking crown or no...Even their website doesn’t have that info, so I guess it doesn’t have either.
I am not expecting mechanical for $350, and quartz is more than adequate - all my watches are quartz, although I might be getting a mechanical Tag Heuer for Christmas. But, for $350, I’d really like lume and sapphire and locking crown and more than 10m water resistance. My $286 Luminox Atacama 1925 has all those features.
I have a feeling that these are really no different that your typical fashion watch brands like Fossil or Kenneth Cole or similar - just with a motorsports theme to them. I like the look of the Racing Chrono - their Tag Heuer Monza copy, but I’d have hard time spending $350 for them.
Their model with sapphire and lume and a Ronda quartz movement - THE ÉCURIE ECOSSE CHRONOGRAPH - is $742. Bit of a joke for that much money IMHO. That is getting into Hamilton or Tissot automatic money.

Only one of their models has sapphire, and it is $742. Way to expensive, but decent designs. I like the Racing Chrono models.

I know, there was no such details given regarding the crystal.
In the full review I mention that lume and an anti reflective coating should feature for the money.

I saw that in the full review. Honestly, I like the designs, but I would not give them my cash for one of these. Now, if they were selling their $740 watch for around $300, that would be more reasonable set of features in that price range, and the nice design would be a bonus.
